Start a Home Based Web Design Business

This is a good home based business idea for anyone who knows how to create a web site. You can do this freelance out of your home and make some really good money. This home based business is ideal if you are very creative. You have to remember that you will not make a lot of money over night. You are selling a skill and the only "products" you have for potential clients are other sites that you have designed. The more that you have done ,the more money you will make. You might even offer to do a couple of websites for some family members or someone you know so that you have some examples to show clients.
This business is not expensive to start. You just need a good computer, printer, software, and a few books. You can get a lot of free information about creating websites online.
You need to figure out how you will market this home based business. Maybe in the beginning ,it would be good to just market it online. You have to carve your niche out of the huge online market. You could create web pages just for certain types of businesses or people. Like , for example, create web pages just for real estate agents or restaurants. The list can go on and on. Pick a niche that you have knowledge of and experience with. You will enjoy doing the work a lot better.
There are a lot of things to learn if this is going to be your home based business. You will need to learn what to charge, what to offer, etc. You can find out a lot of this information online for free. There are a lot of great books out there you can get, too. If you have the know how to do web page design and the business sense , than this would be a great business for you to do in your house.

The Benefits of Working At Home

There are many benefits of being a work at home mom. Here are a few of them:

You can work when you are the most productive. You have an internal clock and working at home and setting your own hours lets you work with that clock instead of against it.

The commute is AWESOME! There are no car expenses or traffic to worry about. You get to spend more time with your family because you are spending no time at all on your commute.

You can pick where you want to work. You can set up your office where you want to. An extra bedroom, office, basement, or even outside if you want to.

You are saving money by not having to spend gas for commute, child care, clothing, lunches out , and more. And any business expenses that you do have can come off at the end of the year on your taxes. Since you are working from home, you can even take that off of your taxes.

You can be more flexible with your personal and professional activities. If you want to take a day off and go to the zoo with your kids , you can. It is up to you. You will be able to make up the missed work time when you want to.

All of the benefits add up to you having more job satisfaction and ultimately more money made. And who does not want to be happy at their job and make more money. That is the goal. You want to be able to stay home with your family , but not lose the income that having a job gave you. You can work at home and still provide for your family.

Ways to Make Extra Money

1. Get a second job - There are companies looking for part-time help all the time and this can be a great way to earn more cash. Just remember to consider the extra expenses you might incur while working a second job; If you're eating out every night because you're working 14 hours a day and no longer have time to cook for yourself, or incurring additional expenses for clothing, or transportation because the new job is across town, or the extra income has bumped you up into a much higher tax bracket… you get the point.
2. Cut back on spending - This is usually the easiest and quickest way to create more cash, and it's something everyone can do. If you’ve already sized down and cut back as far as you can, I challenge you to look further. Write down all of your spending for a few weeks and undoubtedly you’ll find something else that can be cut. No matter how small the savings may be, every penny counts. Example-- Take your own coffee instead of buying at coffee shop.
3. Cancel subscriptions - If you have several magazines you're subscribed to, keep your favorite one and cancel the rest. Daily newspaper subscriptions can be very costly, consider going to a weekend only delivery (to get the coupons of course!), or cancel your subscription altogether and pick up the Sunday paper at a local store each week as needed. And if any of your subscriptions have time left, you should be able to get a refund for the difference.
4. Stop buying new books - Find something good to read at the library instead, for free! Many libraries will even order new books for you to read if it's in their budget, all you have to do is ask. Depending on how serious your bookstore habit is you could save a lot of money here.
5. Use those coupons! - When you toss those weekly coupons out with the trash it's almost like throwing away CASH. Take a few moments each week to cut out just the coupons you can really use, then look through the grocery store advertisements and match your coupons to the sales, saving double! And if your grocery store doesn’t offer a double coupon deal, try to find one that does.
6. Forget your loyalty to name brands - You can save a fortune buying store brand foods, which are almost always just as good. Especially when using the item in a recipe with other ingredients – no one will notice the difference. You don't have to commit to buying them for the rest of your life, just try them!
7. Combine errands into one trip - I've used this little trick for years. The more errands you can combine into one weekly trip, the more gas money you will save, therefore creating more cash. You can also carpool or walk to your job and local stores if possible. When carpooling with a friend, either take turns driving your own car each week or split the gas money.
8. Stop buying expensive gifts - When you need to create more cash, spending money on expensive store-bought gifts for your family and friends, or even yourself, doesn’t make much sense. Your homemade gifts from the kitchen etc are a great idea.

9. Cancel memberships to health clubs - Walking is one of the best exercises for you anyways, and it’s free! If you don’t have an area near your home that is good for walking, many shopping malls open up early so people can walk safely and comfortably (no bad weather conditions to worry about). And, at that hour the stores will still be closed so there won’t be any temptation to spend money!
10. Create cash by selling your unused items online - Selling items on eBay can be a little time consuming, but I've sold alot of items we no longer use and are in great condition and the bonus of making extra money is the decluttering!
11. Have a garage sale or work with consignment stores - When dealing with consignment stores, make sure they are reputable and have been in business for a while. Otherwise you could give them a carload of items to sell, only to have them close up shop the following month. You could even start your own business by helping other people sell their stuff - if this is something you enjoy doing.
12. Sell your handcrafted products for a profit - The list of items you can make to sell is endless – dog houses, book cases, bird houses, painted mailboxes, plants, quilts, crocheted baby blankets, cloth diapers, pillows, baked goods, homemade bread, jelly, Christmas ornaments, toys, picture frames… you name it! If it’s something people want or need to buy, you can make it and earn a nice profit!
13. Offer services or start a home business - If you have the ability or qualifications you can offer several services from your own home - such as childcare, senior care, tutoring, music lessons, sewing, typing, lawn care, housecleaning, pet sitting and even personal shopping. Have some inexpensive business cards printed announcing your services and hand them out to everyone you know.
14. Have a bake sale with lemonade while you are having a yardsale.
15. Give with a pure heart - When giving, do not give to make money or earn favor… “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38 (NIV) And that could be more important than anything else you do, not just for creating more cash, but also for living a better life!

Start An Ebay Consignment Business - Some Rules

EBay Consignment Business 10 Practical Rules

You can start your own eBay Consignment Business and earn a great living selling other peoples unwanted items. This is one of the easiest, lo-cost ways to start your own business on the internet.

A few simple rules to follow are:

Have a contract - This would list the items you are selling, the fees you charge your client, whether they pay a flat fee or percentage of selling price of the items or a combination of the two, etc
Take possession of items - Under no circumstances should you allow the client to keep the items that you are selling for them. They may decide they don%u2019t want to sell them for the successful bid price or may just change their mind about selling the item.
Promote your services using brochures, flyers, business cards, etc
Have adequate storage space for the items so they don%u2019t get damaged, lost or stolen.
Insure the items you are holding for the client.
Specialize in selling a particular type of item, eg. I sell antiques and collectibles specializing in rare and collectible books.
Don%u2019t waste your time handling junk - Many people will want you to sell all of their cheap items. Don%u2019t waste your time. Set a minimum value for items you will handle. It takes as long to list a ten dollar item as it does to list a one hundred dollar item.
Give your client a reasonable estimate of what their items will sell for. You can check on eBay and see what similar items have sold for in the past. Don%u2019t tell them you can sell something for $100 when you know this item has never sold for more than $25.00.
Protect your reputation in dealing with your client and your eBay customers. The success of your business will depend on your reputation.
Have fun. It is very important that you enjoy what you do or you will not succeed and will tire of it quickly.

Follow these simple rules and your eBay consignment business will be enjoyable and successful. Happy eBaying!

Making money with Google Adsense

Everyone has heard of Google and everyone with a website or blog knows about making money with Google Adsense. But how hard is it to make money with Google Adsense? It seems like it takes forever to get that first payout. You have to have more than 100.00 to receive a check. I am thinking that to really make money with it you need to have more than several webpages or blogs. It would be good to make several different blogs and each one about a different thing. Choose your niches wisely though. You do not want to start a blog about something that you know very little about. You are trying to make money and you still need to have great content and have post that people will want to read. How are you going to make money , if no one visits your blog?? Write about stuff that you know and the content will come naturally to you. You will be filling your blog up with quality content and getting tons of readers.

More readers = More Money!!

I hope this helps you on your journey to make money at home and online. If you have any more tips please post them in the comment field.

How to Choose The Perfect Home Based Business For You!

Are you wanting to work at home and start a home based business? How do you find a home based business that you will love to do? I think that you should look back in time and think back to when you were younger. Remember back to what you always wanted to be when you "grew up". Did you always want to be the next great american writer? Than maybe freelance writing is for you. Did you always want to be a vet and work with animals? Than you might be perfect for selling pet products. ( check out Shure Pets ! ) Did you always want to be an artist? Try selling scrapbook products through one of the scrapbook supplies direct selling programs. Did you always want to be a chef? Maybe you could start your own cake and cookie business! Sell your decorated cakes and cookies ! Or you could be perfect for The Pampered Chef direct selling. The list goes on - No matter what you wanted to be when you were a child ,you can always find something that you can do at home.
Everyone has their own talents. So if you can work off of those talents and start a home based business that you love doing , than you will stay with is longer. You will last longer, too. A home based business where you are doing something that you love doing will be more apt to last through the low times. You will be able to market a home based business that you love a lot easier. You will be talking about it all of the time and able to promote it with ease. It is so much easier to promote something that you actually love. The longer you last ~ than the more money you will eventually make!

Do You Have The Passion To Work From Home?

Are you wanting to work from home? Do you not know what you want to do from home? What kind of work at home business will get you to jump put of bed everyday, eager to get to work?
First thing you need to do is get a notebook and pen.
Write down all of your ideas and thoughts about some of the following things:

When do you feel the most alive? What are you doing when you feel this way?

What are you doing when you lose complete track of time? What makes you completely focus on it when you are doing it?

Is there something that you do that you just cannot live without doing?

Is there something that you have been doing for years and have not gotten bored of doing it?? Like for me , I have been setting up at flea markets for years and have never gotten bored of it, I have had to cut back on how much I go this past year because of new baby. That is one of the great things about having a home based business, if you want to just do it part of the time ,you can.

When you are doing what you love do you not care about what other people think? Do you not care about time or money?

Do you see other people doing what you love to do and get jealous?

Do you dream about starting this home based business and talk about it any chance you can?

If you can say yes to any of these than you most likely have enough passion to get started with your home based business and enough drive to stick to it. You should get to work to finding out what you need to do to start it and get to moving on it. Make goals for when you are going to have certain things done.
And Good Luck!!

Find More Time

I am a work at home mom and I find that I am too busy to get everything done all of the time. There is never enough time in the day! But I found some tricks that people who use their time efficiently.
Keep a log of how you use your time for the next few weeks. Watch for when you spent too much time doing something or did not use your time efficiently. If you do this ,than you will quickly see where you are losing time and be able to fix it.
Have shorter conversations. Keep track of how long you are on the phone. Are you spending too much time on a phone conversation that could be done a lot quicker?
Learn to say "I've got to go". Let them know that you have a lot of work to do and that you have to go. When you work at home it is so easy to get caught up with phone calls and messages from family and friends ,but let them know how you feel about it and when you do your work and that you will call them when you are done.
Try to make appointments with EVERYONE ! This way you have a plan and can figure out your time and can be doing small stuff like stamp envelopes or something while you wait for them.
Do 2 things at once. Always have something to do when you know you will be waiting. Like for example - take order forms to fill out in the waiting room at the doctors etc.
Keep your workspace organized! This is a hard one ,but if you can follow it you will be amazed at how much time you will save. How much time have you lost looking for a phone number or an email address? I know I have lost a lot of time do that!

Get an answering machine!

Very small changes can make a huge difference. Remember the old saying," TIME IS MONEY!" The most successful people do not have any more time than you do , they have just learned how to use it well and to manage it.

It is Written in The Cards

Business cards are a very common way to portray your business image and personality. They are there when you can't be. Because of their size , they are also a great way to network. So you need to design a business card that will be an effective sales and marketing tool, while letting others know about your home based business.

Here are some tips to help you with your business cards:

Be sure to customize your cards to express your home based business personality. Through your business cards you want to gain an edge over the competition. You can very easily customize the look of your cards so that they are not plain and they will show your personality.

Avoid getting flimsy business cards. Since you are usually handing them to others , that is the first thing that will be noticed. Handing out thin, flimsy cards will make them think that you put very little thought into how you want to portray your home based business. High-quality cards will call attention to your home based business.

Maybe add a face to your home based business by adding a photo of yourself. Let others know who is behind the business. This shows a personal touch, letting others know that you will take the time to add your personal touch to everything that you do. Giving you home based business a face lets others know that they can trust you. This will build you long and lasting business relationships.

Use the back of your cards. This is often unused ad space that you could utilize. Don't waste any space. It could carry extra content like coupons, calendar, testimonials, and more.

Use a font that easy to read. Do not use small or very fanciful font. This makes it very hard to read. This will turn off a lot of potential customers.

You do not need to break the bank to get your cards done either. There are many places online where you can get it done for free, all you usually have to pay for is the shipping. If you do find a company that you want to have create your cards for a small cost, see if they can do small orders. You do not want to have to get a huge order of business cards that you will not use or need.

No matter your budget you can create business cards that will put you and your home based business onto the road to profits and success.

Blog Success

Start a blog on your favorite topic, This way you will not run out of content. First write down 10 blog posts off-line and see how you are doing. If you find difficulty to write enough content on that topic, then try to write on some other topic. The best thing to do is, first read some blogs on that particular topic. Do some research, search for blogs on that topic and see what others are doing. Then don't just copy other blogs, but understand that topic properly. After that you will find it easy to write more on that particular topic.

Don't start a blog with one or two entries. At-least make 10 posts on the blog's launch day. A blog with some decent content always makes a good impression. If you do this, then you will have readers from the first day of the launch.

Content is king! Check for grammatical and spellings errors off line, before publishing the blog. Good content brings natural links, so it is always advised to write properly.

The next step is to add the feeds. Check out feed burner and get your feeds running. You can see on the right sidebar, I have the feed subscription buttons placed there.

Try the blog top sites. This is a great way to bring in some more traffic.

Promote your blog with social bookmarking. To start with, join technorati, del.icio.us ,digg, stumbleupon, reddit and others. This is an easy way to get traffic and get your blog out there for the world to see.

Frequently visit other blogs of your niche. When ever you see a new post, read it properly and give a good comment on it. Don't post spam comments; make a nice comment that gets accepted. Some blogs are no-follow and some are not. This step can help you get a lot of targeted readers apart from the link popularity. You can even give blogroll links to a few of the good blogs that you regularly visit.

Try to post regularly, if you don't post regularly, then you will lose a lot of subscription and regular readers. If you are blogging about something that you are passionate about then it will come easily. When it comes easy and you are having fun with it you will find that the readers come more and more and so will the money that you are hoping to make with blogging.

Tender Loving Care For The WAHM

When we are work at home mom's it is easy to let ourselves go. I know that I sometimes do not get a lot of sleep because I have to try and work while my kids are asleep. I sometimes skip meals and just let myself go. I wear a lot of ponytails so that I do not have to worry about my hair and looks. But there are some simple things that we can do that will help us to recharge and get more energy.
Refuel yourself frequently. You might feel like you are too busy to stop and eat ,but if you eat a few small meals a day it will keep your blood sugar (and energy) at their peak levels. Maybe grab a banana and a low fat yogurt. Avoid sugary snacks.
Drink a lot of water. Every one of your organs needs water to function properly. You need to drink at least 8 eight ounce glasses of fluids throughout the day. Drink water, juice, or milk.
Make sure that you are getting enough iron. If you do not get enough your brain does not get enough oxygen and then you feel tired and scattered brained. You could eat iron-rich foods or take a multi-vitamin that will help you get the iron that you need.
Take a nap! This is the one I have trouble with. I know that I should take a nap when my one year old does ,but it is so hard to do it. I want to work every chance I can and most of the time I can only work when he takes a nap. But if you can force yourself to take a short 20 minute cat nap you will feel more alert and improve your performance.
Go outside!! Expose yourself to a few minutes of sun shine even on cool days. Even a few minutes of direct sunlight will reset your bodies clock and really wake you up. A dose of fresh air will rejuvenate you. Take your little ones to the park or for a walk. Get out in the fresh air and take some deep breaths. Constantly breathing the stale indoor air can make you feel sluggish.
Get physical! Doing aerobics increases blood flow and triggers your the release of hormones the affect the brain and instantly energizes you. It does not take much exercise either. Just maybe do a few jumping jacks or run in place for a few minutes. Just 10 minutes of moderate exercise will raise your energy level and improve your whole mood.
Now get to moving and get outside. You will feel much better and be more productive for your work at home. If you have writer's block these tips will work also.

Moms working at homes should have information and proper planning for getting different types of insurance policies. There are several insurance companies that can help their consumers to shop for low cost life insurance and other different insurance products like car auto insurance, health insurance etc. So they can go online for homeowner insurance but they must be cleared exactly for what you are looking for. Incurrence companies are now facilitating their customers owning home based businesses to get cheap short term health insurance plans ranging from 30 to 365 days. For insurance coverage purposes they can use their small business credit cards. They can even apply online for health insurance jobs; you just required sending your resume through e-mail.

Winning Marketing Tactics

Many small business fail to make a commitment to their marketing. Here are just a few common marketing strategies that will help small and home based business owners target the right message to their customers:
1. Have a realistic budget. To market your business it will cost you some money. You need to find out what your goals for your business are and set your marketing plan to go with that. Having huge, lofty goals and a very small budget will not work. You need to carefully decide what you can reasonably spend on marketing and determine how you can get the most bang for your buck.
2. Pick the right marketing techniques that suit your objectives and your market. Lets say , for example, you own a small gift shop in the suburbs and know that your primary customers come from the surrounding area, it might not be a good idea to waste money on billboard or radio ads, You can get by with ads in your local newspaper or by using direct mailings. Always spend your marketing budget in the area where your targeted customers live and work.
3. Make sure thet you sre sending the right message. You want to let your customers and any potential customers know what you can do for them. If you have something unique that you offer and know one else in your area does , make sure that you mention this.
4. Research. This can not be stated enough. No matter how excited you are about a product , you have got to make sure that you research and find out if it really is a new thing and that your price is right. Find out what others are selling or if they have something similar. Research and see if it a product that your customers will really want. Do not try to sell a cheap knock off of something that will just be a waste of time and money. Do not try to sell something on ebay when there are thousands of the same item on there for sale and none of them selling. Try to always have something totally unique.
5. Find out what your customers want. The more you understand and know your customers, the more successful your marketing and ultimately your business will be. Gain an understanding of what your customers would like to have. Are they busy, maybe offer gift wrapping also.
6. Be consistent with your marketing. Anyone with a small business has to learn what it takes to impact a customer. To be successful with your marketing , you need to be consistent. Your success cannot be measured with just a single effort or in a few short months. You have got to follow up the initial effort with reminders that visually tie their selves in with the first one.
7. Grab the customer or clients attention. Go back and think about other's marketing attempts that have been memorable for you. Think about what made them memorable for you. Do not use confusing slogans and once you do pick one , stick with it. Do not change it everytime you do something new. Pick a few slogans that you like and test them out on family members or friends. Ask them if they like the slogan and what it makes them thinkof. Once you have selected the one that sticks in peoples minds and the one that suits your image , use it on every communication, business card, letterhead, and more that you use.
8. Recognize and measure your results. Effective marketing will take some time to make an impact. Ask your customers and clients how they found you and what prompted them to choose your business. If they say that it was because of your ad ,etc, than you know your marketing plan if going in the right direction.
So just do your homework before you spend a lot of money on your marketing and then just test out with a small marketing test before going all out.

Why Moms Make The Best Entrepreneurs?

More and more moms are starting their own businesses. I think that moms make the best Entrepreneurs for a few reasons.
Moms can think on their feet and get things done. We are always having to come up with easy solutions to household problems.
Moms are multi-taskers. We have full days getting the house clean , taking care of kids, keeping hubby happy, shopping, cooking, and so on. Anyone who can do all of that every single day should have no problem running their own business , which has a ton of multi-tasking involved.
Moms are frugal and can come up with a lot of money saving ways to bootstrap a business.
Moms are caring! We show love to our families all of the time and our customers know that we will show care to our product and selling. Or whatever business we start.
Moms are creative. We have to be to be able to keep a houseful of little kids busy AND happy. Take your creative side and start a home based business from a craft or an idea that you came up with for a toy you made your little one. We moms have a special way of thinking unconventionally.
Most of us moms also have to take care of all of the book keeping and bill paying of the household , so we already have general knowledge of this to be able to carry it over to our small business book keeping.
Since most of us who want to be work at home moms are already stay at home moms, we already have the flexibility and the freedom to get started on out home based small business.
Us moms are always involved in every thing that needs done at home and will carry that over to our home based small business.
Us moms are very good at listening to others. We are able to do more and talk less.
We are able to ask how others are feeling about something and then act on it.
We never take anyone for granted.
Moms are just natural leaders and teachers. This comes in handy with a home based small business. You are most likely going to be starting this home based business venture on your own and need to be able to take the lead and be able to get out and really work at it.
Moms always find ways to do things better and easier.
Moms are very resourceful.
We have perseverance.
Moms gain a lot of patience with having a family and household to take care of. This comes in handy when you are starting out with your new business. It might take you a while to notice any profit from your business and you need patience and perseverance to get you through that hard times until you start reaping the rewards.
Moms are able to see their vision through to the end. We focus our eyes on the vision on how we want something to be and we work towards it.
In both motherhood and business you are working towards goals. It is so much easier for moms to start a small business because they already have experience with working with others and working towards goals.
If you are a mom who has always wanted to start their own business this is the time to do it. You can start out the new year with a new business. Make that your New Year's Resolution.

Goal Buddies

If you are like me and sometimes have trouble reaching your goals than maybe you need a "goal buddy"! This is someone that will keep you honest about your goal and where you stand. Here are some things to look for in a goal buddy.
You need to seek a like-minded "buddy". They need to share the same type of interest and be in similar careers. Since you are reading this blog ,you are most likely a work at home mom or dad so your "goal buddy" needs to be a work at home mom or dad, too.
You should "meet" every so often to share where you each are in your goals. This will keep you from procrastinating.
Agree with each on what the rules are. Will you talk every week or month? Will you talk by phone or email?
Make sure you are honest about what your goals are.
Be open with all of your support and information with your "goal buddy". For example: You are a direct seller for a party plan company and you know someone in their area ,maybe you could get them in contact with that person so they could have a party!
Report to each other your progress. This way you can keep track of what you want to improve on. For each goal your "buddy" has ask for a regualar progress report by email. You can share with other what goals you have reached or are close to reaching.
A "goal buddy" can also help you get through all of the bad times too. By giving you support and advice on how to get over the slump in sales or whatever is slowing you down.

Take Steps To Your Own Business

You have made the decision ~ You want a business of your own! Maybe you have not quit your full-time job, but you are wanting to be independent. Here are some pointers to help you on your way.
The first step you should take is to start small. You may get cold feet or friends and relatives may discourage you. Get started with your ideas anyway. Don't gamble with your whole life savings ,but start small and keep your expense low.
Get advice from people who also have their own business or are doing the same thing you are doing. Often people with more experience will enjoy sharing some of their advice. Always be on the look out for new learning experiences.
Write down your goals and plans. Create a timetable of when you are wanting certain goals completed. You also need to plan on how you are going to reach your goals. You also need to keep track of important deadlines, such as the date you need to be in to reserve your booth at the craft fair or flea market. Make sure you have all legal papers ,license ,etc you need.
Try to anticipate your cash flow. Will you have enough to carry you before you start bringing in money from your business? Just as things sometimes take longer than expected ,you will also find that things cost more than expected. Be prepared. If you are starting out with very little money than you have be even more smarter and more imaginative with your money. Whatever you do, Keep paying your bills on time.
Map out your sales campaigns. How big of a area will you cover?? Who are your customers and how are you going to reach them? Study different marketing methods an their costs.
Get organized and stay organized. Keep careful track of all of your records, bills, customers, etc. Start now when your business is small. If you wait until your business is bigger than you will find that you do not have the time to do it.
Make sure public image is presentable. You may need a sign in front of your shop or imprinted stationery. Keep expenses as low as you can. Maybe trade with another business. Is there a local print shop that might trade with you for something you do for a small starter order of imprinted cards or stationery? Let others know what you do and how you are just starting out. Spread the word.
Learn to live with less sleep and fun! Make sure you take good care of yourself and eat well. Get used to the idea that sleeping late and watching hours of tv will be part of the past if you want your business to succeed. While getting a new business off of the ground it will consume your life, but when it is successful you will see that it was well worth it!
Be prepared for surprises. Things will never happen as you have them wrote out so be prepared for the little sidetracks. You will always need more money, time, and courage, than you thought you would. But if you are prepared and know that things happen sometimes than you should succeed . All of the experiences you have throughout your starting a home based business are a learning experience and maybe you will be able to share your advice with someone years from now when they start their own business.

Be A Balanced Mom

So You want to go from being a stay at home mom to being a work at home mom. Moms are pulled in many directions. There are kids, the husband, the household, and so much more. It never seems like it all gets done. To make the flip to also being a work at home mom, you need to have great time management and organization skills. This will ensure that you get everything done and still have time for your family.
Use these tips to help you find the balance to become a better mom and work at home mom:
1. Use a calendar. You will stay organized and keep track of home, school, and your work schedule with just one calendar. Having a calendar hanging in a certain place , like a kitchen, where the whole family can see it lets them know your schedule also. That way when you are working they also know it and know not to bother you. I also find that it is good to have an agenda that I can keep in my handbag so that it is with me all of the time.
2. Know when to ask for help. Let your family know if you need them to maybe help you a little bit more with housework. You might be having a busy week "at work" because of holiday or taxes.
3. Do not hold on to guilt that you might have because you are "working". You cannot do everything. You might have to ask for help. You have to remember that what you are trying to do by starting your own home based business is for your family. Do not overextend yourself though.
4. When you are not working , spend your time with your family wisely. Do not plop down in front of the tv. Go for a walk, play a game, or something else where you are really connecting with your family.
5. Set dates on your calendar for spending time with your family and on your self. Do not let your home based business dominate your life.
6. Change things when you need to. Talk it over with your family if you are needing to change your schedule. You might have found out that you can get more done with your home based business on a certain day or time and then that will leave more time for you to be spending with family and the house.
7. Be a flexible as you can be. Leave room for change and growth. Your family is growing at the same time as your home based business. With this comes many changes that will be exciting, frustrating, and very challenging. Stay open to all of the changes.
8. Do what is best for your family and you. Don't allow your home based business dictate what happens in your life. Don't let long hours working keep you from spending time with your family.

With these tips and ones that you already do you should be able to find the balance of being a stay at home AND work at home mom. All it takes is planning, flexibility, and a positive attitude. You can do it if you set your mind to it. Just make sure you are always letting your family know what you are doing and why you are doing it.

Saving Time

One of the best ways to get organized and save time is to make
a “to-do” list.
Try not to leave anything out. List everything from the most
Important to the least important.
When you get finished writing out your list do not feel overwhelmed.
Go over the list and select the most important things that need to be
Done. Like calling important customers, ordering supplies, etc.
Make sure you write down next to these when you need to have them
Done. Is there anything on the list that you could delegate to
Someone else to do for you?
When you business prospers you might have to hire employees to
Do the work that you no longer have the time to do. Many small
Business people think that they are the only ones that can do stuff.
That could be your downfall.
Over time you might find that the items on your list are not as
Important. They can be put off until another time.
You do need to be able to decide when something is a priority.
Like going to talk to an important client about a problem.
Put your list somewhere that you are sure not to miss it or get
Lost in your paper work.
If you follow your “to-do” list than you should save a lot of time
Because you are getting everything done . When stuff gets put
Off than it will slow you down trying to catch up.

Is Direct Selling The Home Based Business For You?

There are so many direct selling companies now. If you are a stay at home mom who is wanting to make some extra money this could be the way for you to do it. You can sell anything from jewelry, cosmetics, baskets, handbags, and more.
Becoming a direct seller works for moms so well because of the flexibility and freedom. You have the freedom to choose when you want to work and how much you want to work. With direct selling you have more control on your finances. If you are just wanting to make a few dollars or if you are wanting to make a living with it, you have the freedom to choose. With being a direct seller in your community ,you will get recognition. Others will know who you are and come to your for your item. With this will com personal growth and you will learn to make the most of your best character traits. Direct selling companies provide you with a way to grow personally and in your business.
One of the best things about having a direct selling business is the social aspect of it. You have small kids at home and with this home based business you are able to get out of the home and interact with other moms and women.
When you are a mom who starts working with a direct selling company you are still the boss. You can decide on how much you want to work and how much money you want to make. You can start out just part time and gradually go to full time. You can set your own goals and create the life you want. There is no limit on income and territory where you can sell.
So if you are looking for a home based business , you might want to look into direct selling. Find one that is something that you love and would use yourself. This will make it easier to sell if you actually have a passion for it.

Teach Baking & Cooking As A Home Based Business

This is a great idea that I wanted to share with all of you on how you could make extra money.
Are you a great cook? Can you bake like there is no tomorrow?
You could teach young girls and teens how to cook or bake. You could hold workshops on the weekends and teach them. You could start with basics and work your way up to where they are cooking their own meals. Teaching young girls how to bake would be really fun. You could even have a special class for cake decorating. You could have the final class be a huge dinner for all of their parents and each girl has a certain part of the meal that they have to make. Or if you teach baking then all of you spend the day baking and then sell them at the local fair or craft show.
Advertising would be easy! Put up ad at the YMCA or Girls club. Word of mouth would be awesome way to get the word out, too.
Maybe you could even teach special stuff to women! You could teach them how to bake bread, decorate cakes, or whatever you are really good at.
If you have a specialty and you love to cook or bake then you should try this. What better way to make some extra money then to share your talents.
How much to charge would be up to you. I think you should figure in what you will be teaching them, the cost of the food etc, and the time. Check around and see how much people usually get for teaching stuff.

As They Grow Older.....

What do us work at home parents do when our easy to manage little ones get older? I am going through this right now! My little one is now almost 2 years old and is all over the house! I do most of my work when he takes a nap, but find that that is sometimes not enough time. Most days I get up VERY early so I can get my email checked, some writing done, and some other things. Plus I still have 2 teenagers that I have to take care of, cooking, household chores, etc.

DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS ON HOW TO KEEP UP WITH WORK AND KEEP UP WITH LITTLE ONES??

Your Purpose For Working at Home

You have it in your mind that you are wanting to stay at home and work! Why? What is your purpose for working at home?

Are you like so many women, and have never been in the work place? You thought that you were fine in your life, but either a divorce or a death came along, and now you find yourself needing to make the money to support yourself and your kids. You are the one who is doing this for their livelihood.

Are you a mom who is staying home to care for kids while hubby works and you just want a little of your own spending money? Are you just wanting to make enough to pay for special trips for the family? To purchase special items for the home? Do you just want to be able to make a contribution to the home , while doing something that you love?

Whichever you are and whatever your reason is for wanting to consider a work at home job, you have to make sure that you find something that is right for you and meaningful to do. Be sure that you are doing what you love the most. If you are doing what you love , than you will be the most productive, you will feel excited about your work, and be the most profitable at it.

Doing what you love goes along with finding your purpose in life. You need to do some serious thinking and reflection on what your life's purpose and goals are before you decide what you will be doing at your work at home business. Maybe asking yourself the questions below will help you get started:

1. What is your real life's purpose? What do you want to accomplish in your life?

2. How would you have to act, speak, and think to bring that purpose into reality?

3. What daily activities, choices, attitudes, and accomplishments would you choose if I lived as if my purpose meant something to me? If you are working at home , would you feel better about your choices? Would my family benefit from my choices?

4. How would you live if you were actually working on your life goal and purpose? Would working at home allow me to be myself?

This should be a starting point onto something truly amazing for you and your family. You should really put a lot of thought into starting a home based business and keep in mind that you want to be doing something that YOU love to do! Do not let others influence you, this is your goal and dream. Now get out there and live it!

I will be writing more about how to find your purpose and how to do what you love in the upcoming days and weeks.

Your Business Plan...

When you are wanting to start a small business you should be able to answer certain questions , that you should also have in your business plan. You will have to have all of this together when you go to try and get a small business loan. Take your time and think about these. Really put some time into these, because you will be asked about them.

1. How much money are you needing to start this small business?

2. What will you be using the money for?

3. How will this loan affect you?

4. Do you have any collateral?

5. How will this loan be repaid?

6. When are you needing the money?

7. Do you have detailed projections for the business? Are they backed by historical data?

8. How much can your small business afford to lose and still be viable?

9. How do you plan to manage the risk that will come with having and running your own small business?

A good business plan is a must for any small business that is wanting to try for a loan and I think that it is even a good idea for anyone who has a home based business to have one. Go back to it once a year and see how far you have come and to see if any of your plans have changed or have been met. Keeping all of your plans and goals written down will help you to stay on track and keep you moving forward.

Secrets of Success

Down the road to success people learn a lot of things. There are certain things that everyone who has ever been a success does. They all share the same traits it seems.
They are persistent and when they have an idea they go out on a limb and do it, no matter what anyone else says. They do not listen to the naysayers. If they did they would have never gotten off the ground. Do you have others in your life telling you not to follow your dream or idea? Shut that nose out and follow your heart.
One really important thing about all successful people, is that they work very hard. To be a success, you cannot be lazy. Since they are also doing what they love, it is not too hard to work at it.
Successful people are surrounded by smart, hardworking people that are just like themselves. You have got to listen to them , listen to their advice and more.
You have got to be trustworthy if you are going to be starting your own business. You should be able to let you customers know that they can trust your word. Always do the right thing. You will be faced with many decisions and will have many moments when it might be easier to not do the right thing. Whatever the financial risk you have to make so that you can sleep well at night will keep your business going strong. No matter how small or big your home based business is.
To be a success , just follow these simple truths and you will be on your way.

A Typical Day In MY Life ~ A WAHM~

What is the day of a work at home mom like? I will just write a little bit about what my typical day is like.
I usually get up at about 3 a.m. so that I can get about 3 hours of writing(blogging) done before I have to wake my 2 teens up to get ready for school, I make them their breakfast and help them with whatever, My 17 month old son usually wakes up at about this time, too. So , I also have to get him all ready for his day. My teens leave at 7:45 and me and my little one usually watch disney, pbs, or nick jr. He plays around my feet as I do dishes and clean the house. He takes his nap at around 11 or 12 and then I can get some more work done! When he wakes up I get supper decided on and if I have to I start it. My teens get home from school at 3:30 and if I do not have to run my son around to one of his practices, we are home and I have them supper and than I get to relax for the evening and I get to bed at the same time as my little one at around 9 p.m. then I wake up at 3a.m. and it starts all over!!
My days are usually pretty much the same everyday, unless I have appointments, practices, laundry, shopping, or whatever that I need to do. MY husband is a truck driver who is usually gone on long hauls , so I have the time and the house all to myself to get a lot of work done. I love it and would not change a thing about it. This is a choice that I made about 10 years ago and do not regret it at all.

Tips For A Successful Home Based Business

There are certain things that you have got to do to make sure that your home based business is a success.

1. Make sure that you have a separate room or place for your work and office. To be used for work only!

2. Set up a work schedule that you will stick to. Whatever you are comfortable with working with. If you have to get up earlier than everyone else to get work done , set that as your hours. I have to get up really early and I usually stay up later so I can get most of my work done.

3. You might find that you need a separate phone line that is just for your home based business. An answering machine or voicemail is a huge help, too.

4. Plan for all of your equipment needs. I get by with a desk, computer, external hard drive, digital camera, printer, and notebook. Some home based businesses need more items or less.

5. Treat any household interruptions as if you were at a regular job out of the home.

6. Get the support of family and friends.

7. Get out of the house at least once a day. Get some fresh air and exercise. Take the kids to the park, walk the dog, go get your hair done, do something that is out of the house and away from work.

8. You might have to get some kind of child care for at least a day or two a week so that you can get some of your work done. You might have days where you need to be on the phone a lot, and having a toddler or baby with you will make it impossible. Maybe get grandma to watch your little ones one or two days a week.

9. Keep all of your contacts, paper work, invoices, and more up to date!!!!!

6: I’ve never sold romance products before. Do you offer training?

We include a training manual in your kit package and also hold training chats. In your start-up kit there is a book titled Toygasms which we highly recommend reading. It educated you about sex toys and your bodies and is an EXCELLENT resource to have for selling our products. Also, we are always available through email, phone, and IM. There is also a Fun Lovin’ Parties Yahoo group where you can network with other affiliates and consultants. We are working on training audios that you can download from the website.

7: Do you sell business supplies?
YES! There is a store strictly for consultants to buy supplies. Here you can buy catalogs, brochures, order forms, and tons of home party supplies! We are also working on a site strictly for bachelorette party supplies. Bachelorette parties are a great opportunity to have a Fun Lovin’ Party.

8: Is it easy to book parties and so you provide leads?
We can’t keep up with all of our leads. We need you. Whenever we receive a party lead in your area we contact you immediately. What’s great about our parties is that not only are they easy to book but it’s the only home party that husbands will hand over the checkbook and WANT their wives to spend money! Also, you can do coed parties, couples parties, and all men parties. How fun!

9: Why should I choose you over bigger companies?
It is hard for us to compete with companies that have been around for years. Therefore, we try to offer better prices, better customer support, better affiliate/consultant support, attainable goals (you only need to sell a little to earn free stuff), no minimums or monthly quotas, a more personal experience overall. Yes, the other companies may offer trips and car allowances, but they make it nearly impossible to reach these goals. And a lot of them require you to attend the annual conference in order to even receive these rewards. And you have to pay to get there and stay there. By the time you do that, you could have bought your own trip.

In addition to our generous compensation, our point reward system that we have developed lets you earn points for sales, bookings, sign-ups, and more. You can “buy” free products and other rewards with these points. And you don’t need to sell a million dollars to earn something. You can “shop” with just a few points.

10: What if I decide it’s not for me?
This business is so much fun that it is hard to imagine you being unhappy BUT if you decide it is not for you then you leave with a fantastic supply of toys and products to enhance your sex life.

So what are you waiting for?
