Teach your kids the major steps of money management and you will be helping them to become wealthy.

1. Make your kids LOVE to save money. Give them a weekly allowance. Don't make them save all of it , you are trying to teach them to budget. Make them save 10% of their allowance. Then set a goal together that they are saving towards. Like a new bike or doll. Make sure that the goal is reasonable. They will lose interest if it is going to take too long to reach the reward of their saving and hard work.

2. Nothing teaches a child the value of a dollar like having them work for it. Pay them extra for big chores like raking the yard, shoveling snow from the sidewalk, mowing, etc.

3. Make their money grow by adding "interest" to their savings. Like 5% a month on the money they have saved. For example - if they have 10.00 in their piggy bank at the end of the month you will add .50 ! Over time they will learn about compounding interest.

4. Give them freedom to spend. Teens, especially, should know the value of credit and how credit cards work. Maybe start out with a pre-paid debit card. Let older children have a bank account so they will learn about debit cards and how to use them.

Teaching your kids early will help them learn about money and credit. They will leave the house with an understanding of how money works and how they can use it and save it. Your children should be well on their way to riches.

Home Business: How To Cope With Loss Of Focus On Your Home Business Goals

Loss of focus on your home business goals is a worrying thing to experience and nobody but you can get your day back on track. There is no point in being cross with yourself, loss of focus can happen to anyone, it's not your fault and your business will survive any temporary setback caused by your lack of focus. The first thing to do is to identify the reason you suddenly lost focus on your goals. Then you can take action to get your level of focus back to normal.

Even though you might be feeling like a miserable failure, there is probably a simple reason for your loss of focus on your home business goals. Those goals were sound when you set them for yourself as part of your home business success strategy, so don't fall into the trap of reassessing your goals and altering your plans while you are in a negative frame of mind. Think about your goals and the reasons you had for setting them. Consider how far you have progressed since you started your home business and congratulate yourself on your success so far. Allow yourself to feel good about having made progress towards success even if you are temporarily stuck in a rut.

Trying to force yourself to carry on working as normal while you are feeling negative and unfocused, is unproductive. There are all sorts of reasons why you might need a break from work. It could be that you have tried to work for too many hours without a break and just need half an hour to relax and have a snack or a drink. Once your energy levels have been restored to normal, focusing on your goals will not seem difficult. Maybe you have been working on something tricky and just need to get some fresh air an clear your head. Maybe you need a day off to get over a minor illness. Outside responsibilities might be distracting you from focusing on your home business. It could be that your mind is wandering because you are thinking of a tough job you need to do. Prioritising your tasks for the day might be all that's necessary to restore your level of focus.

Once you identify the reason for your loss of focus, it will be easy to see what you need to do. Next, you need to make yourself a sensible timetable. Make a list, in order of importance, of all the things you need to do and want to do that day (including time for breaks). Allocate a reasonable amount of time for each activity. Don't worry if you can't finish all your tasks in one day, rule a line above the work that can wait for another day.

If you need to take the whole day off, deal with any really urgent matters and then leave everything that can reasonably be left until the next day. If you just need a short break, that will be much easier to slot in and the refreshing effect of the break should enable you to quickly get back to working at your top capacity. If your problem is that an unpleasant or difficult task is waiting for you on your "to do" list, take a short revitalising break, promise yourself a reward for completing that task and tackle the dreaded chore before anything else on your list.

Regaining focus on your home business goals is usually easy once you understand why the loss occurred. It is frequently just a question of taking a break or reorganising your schedule to have renewed levels of focus arrive as suddenly as the sun breaking through clouds on a dismal day.

WAHM 's Are Special People!

How do we do it?? Us Work at Home Moms do all of the housework, take care of kids(hubby ,too), make sure there is food on the table, keep track of bills, and ALSO work at home. Usually when we have a home based business, the time we put in makes it equivalent to a full-time job that has a ton of hours overtime. If we have small children and babies it even seems more difficult to work out of the home. You can not put babies on your work schedule! They need you when they need you! So it takes a very special person to be able to stay at home and juggle everything we juggle. Work at Home Moms are multi-tasking geniuses. We can do several things at once and still have the "bring it on" attitude. I think maybe the reason we can be like this is because of Love. We love our family and want to be there for them , but still work and bring in much needed money. I was a latch-key kid ,so I know how it feels to go home to an empty house. I did not want that for my kids. I have tried working out of the home and it just is too hard. One of the kids gets sick and you have to miss a day of work and soon they add up and there goes your job. Working at home , I can take care of sick kids and still work. Or even if I do not want to work for a day it is very easy to catch up. I love working out of the home and do not regret the choice.

Little Entrepreneurs - Starting them Young and Creating Good Habits for Life

I've been working from home since my youngest daughter was born. It's been a great adventure and I'm so blessed to be able to stay home with my kids and bring some income to the family budget. I love it.

The key to making this work for our family has been having our daughters work with me in my businesses from the beginning. Now I know, that sounds impossible. And obviously a newborn can't stick labels on my mailing etc. But as soon as my kids could walk and talk I started training them to be little entrepreneurs and helpers, beginning first with helping me around the house so that I could get the business work done.

Here are a few quick steps you can take with your little ones to start them on the road to success in helping you with your business and even toward helping them get their own home business started when they're older.

1. While they're still in your arms, use a sling or a backpack to carry baby with you while you work. Talk about what you're doing and how they can help you when they're older. The key at this age is have them WITH you as much as possible and then use nap time to get those things done that might be impossible to do with a young one strapped to you.

2. When your little ones can walk, have them help you with some simple tasks...filling up the dog food, folding washcloths, snapping beans. Always talk about how much help they are to you and how much you'll love it when they're ready to do this job all by themselves. Before you know it they'll be saying, "I can do it mom!"

3. Praise them often for their efforts. They may not put the fork on the right side of the plate but it's there and it helped. Let them know it! Make simple jobs easy for them. Put items in drawers that they can reach. For instance, a two or three year old can easily set the table with silverware, but it would really help them if they had a placemat to tell them where each piece goes and if the flatware was in a drawer at their level. You can easily make a vinyl placemat a silverware map with a sharpie. Just draw each piece on there and use the placemats at every meal letting your child set the table.

4. Let them work the business with you. In the beginning that might just be having them sit in the high chair or booster seat at the table while you work the computer and they put paperclips in Dixie cups. Or buy some tape and construction paper and have them tape away ... it's cheap and you're using items that they'll be using in the future to really help you with your business. As soon as they're ready, have them put the stickers and postage stamps on your mailings, strap the packing tape on your boxes (it doesn't have to be perfect!) sort and/or file your papers, etc. Again, the key when they're young is working with them and encouraging them.

5. Let them work independently when they're ready. Kids are often ready to take on bigger responsibilities before you think they are. A 10 year old can easily handle the checkbook and just imagine how great it will be for his math skills too - plus the bank checks his work!

Involve your young kids in your business from the beginning. You'll be amazed at how the investment of time (and maybe some frustration) in the early days will pay off greatly down the road when your children can handle huge parts of your business without you because they've been well trained.

Top 10 Blog Writing Tips

Most of the "rules" about writing for ezines and newsletters apply to writing posts for your blog, but there are some important differences. Keep these 10 tips in mind and you'll be publishing great blog content that attracts prospects and clients in your niche market.

1. Write with the reader in mind. Remember WIIFM? It’s marketing jargon for What’s In It For Me? That’s what you should be keeping in mind. Your reader will read your post looking for what’s in it for them.

2. Make it valuable and worthwhile. Don’t waste people’s time. If you don’t have anything to say, no problem, plenty other people do. So share their articles, do an interview, review a book.

3. Proof-read for typos and glaring grammatical errors. You wouldn’t go out of the house with dirty hair or missing a sock, so why would you publish spelling mistakes? Respect your readers by polishing up your stuff.

4. Keep it short and simple, sweetie. (KISS). Most people are scanners. You may have a lot to say and think it interesting, and it may be. But people are reading online and out of time. Get to the point quickly. Publishing short posts more frequently is a better format than publishing lengthy articles every few weeks.

5. Keep it lively, make it snappy and snazzy. Even if you aren’t a natural born writer, you can write for your blog. Just write like you’re speaking to your friend…or to yourself! Remember though, get to the point quickly. Keep in mind the journalist’s rule of 5 W’s in the first paragraph: who, what, why, when and where.

6. Link often. This builds credibility and positions you as an expert in your field. People don’t have time to know what others are doing, you should tell them. Linking to other blogs and websites also helps you build a network of associates who will in turn link to your blog.

7. Use keywords often. This will help you stay on purpose, and the search engines will love your blog. Your rankings will go up. This is one of the reasons we have you write out your purpose statements before beginning your blog. The clearer you are about your purpose, the more consistently you will deliver messages that are on target. And the more often your keywords show up, the better your search engine results.

8. Write clearly (short sentences, only one concept per sentence). No double speak or jargon; no more than one idea in one sentence- don’t make your readers have to think about your meaning. Spoon feed them. Use commas and dashes liberally.

9. Write like you talk. It’s okay to use common expressions from speech.

10. Use a clear headline, and don’t be afraid to make bold statements (but don’t mislead people either). Make it snazzy and use key words. Example: Ex-Techno-Weenie Masters HTML Code

Use this checklist to ask yourself a few questions as you are reading through for typos and grammar:

__ Is the topic clear to someone who only reads the headline?

__Does the lead paragraph tell who and what the story is about and why the reader should care about it?

__ Is the angle you've used likely to seem newsworthy?

__Would someone who knows absolutely nothing about this topic understand this post?

__ Is the post free of jargon?

__ Is it written in journalistic style and does it make an effort to be objective?

__ Have you peppered the headline and the post with keywords and phrases that will be attractive to search engines?

__ Did you remember to ask your readers a question at the end, or something to stimulate readers to comment?

__ Did you remember to write with the reader in mind, always keeping in mind WIIFT? (What’s in It for Them?)

A few simple rules to follow are:


Have a contract - This would list the items you are selling, the fees you charge your client, whether they pay a flat fee or percentage of selling price of the items or a combination of the two, etc

Don%u2019t waste your time handling junk - Many people will want you to sell all of their cheap items. Don't waste your time. Set a minimum value for items you will handle. It takes as long to list a ten dollar item as it does to list a one hundred dollar item.
Give your client a reasonable estimate of what their items will sell for. You can check on eBay and see what similar items have sold for in the past. Don't tell them you can sell something for $100 when you know this item has never sold for more than $25.00.
Protect your reputation in dealing with your client and your eBay customers. The success of your business will depend on your reputation.

The 4 Keys to a Lower Maintenance and More Productive Online Business.

Here's something that most online business owners struggle with - Working too hard for not enough return. Eve when the return's are good, the hours can be grueling.

As an Internet marketing mother, I can't afford to be sitting at my computer 24/7. I chose to run an online business because I want to be home with my kids, but at home glued to a computer screen isn't like being at home.

Even if you don't have a kid or a spouse, a business should not become your entire life.
It's a recipe for burn out and a dismal life that revolves around a computer. At first, building your business and working really may seem exciting, but then you look up and realize there's nothing else in your life.

So, how do you work smarter and not harder? In other words, how do you make more money with less personal time invested in your business.

To me, in comes down to 4 key points:

· Value your time
· Leverage the strengths and time of others
· Implement Passive Income Models into your Business
· Don't be afraid of technology

Here's some more thoughts on each of those:

1. Value Your Time:

You need to set and limit your working hours. You probably run your business, so you can stay home with your family&/or have more freedom. Well, being a prisoner to your computer doesn't do either of those things for you.

In addition, when you limit your work time, you are more productive. If you have only 3 hours to get work done, you're more likely to stay focused and do what you need to do. If you have set aside the whole day to work, you'll probably slack off and hang out at forums, check your stats endlessly or find other distractions. Sorry to say - that's NOT working.

2. Leverage The Strength & Time of Others:

Don't think of yourself as a solo entrepreneur...think of yourself as a team. You can leverage the strength and time of others by:

- Outsourcing: Never try to do it all yourself!

- Partnering with others reaching the same target market as you: Your competition doesn't need to be your enemy. Make them your partners instead!

- Recruiting and training an affiliate force: Just setting up the script for your affiliate program isn't enough...set up a stellar program instead.

- Being part of mastermind group that shares business strategies and experiences.


3. Implement Passive Income Models Into Your Business:

Outsourcing and having your own well-managed affiliate program are ways to generate passive income. Other ways to add more passive income to your online business are:

- Join affiliate programs: You don't have to fulfill all the orders and provide customer support.

- Learn search engine optimization (SEO): Search engine optimization is an excellent source of highly-targeted traffic for your website. Just think, people enter a keyword phrase for something they want and voila, they find you.

- Implement pay-per-click strategies: Just like with search engines, you can get highly-targeted traffic to your website, but you have to pay for it. But setting up a cost-effective and profitable campaign can do wonders for your business. Try Adwords of Yahoo Search Marketing.

1. When you make your first sale, follow-up with the customer. You could follow-up with a "thank you" email and include an advertisement for other products you sell. You could follow-up every few months.

2. You could upsell to your customers. When they're at your order page, tell them about a few extra related products you have for sale. They could just add it to their original order.

 3. Tell your customers if they refer four customers to your web site, they will receive a full rebate of their purchase price. This will turn one sale into three sales.

4. When you sell a product, give your customers the option of joining an affiliate program so they can make commissions selling your product. This will multiply the sale you just made.
